Page Electronics jets into the future with MYDATA

After more than a month of exhaustive trials, Page Electronics, one of the largest and most successful subcontract electronics manufacturer in the Benelux countries, has purchased a MYDATA MY500 solder jet printing machine.

This innovative machine, which eliminates the need for stencils when applying solder paste to PCBs, has been incorporated into Page Electronics’ new flexible prototyping line. It is already helping the company to offer a faster and more flexible service to customers needing prototypes and special assemblies.

In its evaluation of MY500 and its novel solder jet printing technology, Page Electronics was supported by IMEC, the world-leading independent research centre for nano-electronics and nano-technology.

“Although Page Electronics was initially a little sceptical about our new technology, during the evaluation period the company quickly became enthusiastic about its benefits,” said Edwin de Blauw, MYDATA’s New Business Development Director. “The elimination of stencils naturally means big time and cost savings in prototype work, but the company was also impressed by the level of control offered by the MY500.”

“The machine can, for example, control the amount of paste applied to individual pads, and even profile the paste application across a pad. That makes it easy to achieve top quality results, even with boards using “difficult” components, and it virtually eliminates the need for reworking.”
