Changeovers take no time at all with MYDATA!
With the new FlowLine concept from MYDATA, users of the company’s MY-series pick-and-place machines, which are already renowned for their exceptionally high utilisation, can now make product changeovers entirely without operator intervention.
As well as delivering significant gains in productivity, MYDATA’s FlowLine concept also reduces the opportunities for human error, as operators no longer need to select programs or make loader adjustments. In addition, new operators can learn faster and more easily on how to use the machines.
The operation of machines in conjunction with FlowLine is straightforward. Users simply load a PCB magazine, which carries an identifying barcode, into the machine. The barcode is read by a scanner and, on the basis of the information it contains, orders are sent to the machines in the assembly line and production starts automatically.
Since the machines in the production line keep track of the number of boards that have been processed, products of different widths can be handled sequentially. The new conveyor width and other settings are applied only when the first board of a new batch reaches the appropriate segment of the line.
In addition to MY-series pick-and-place machines, production lines operating with FlowLine can optionally include MY500 solder-jet printing machines, which provide optimal control over solder deposition and make the use of inconvenient and costly silk screens unnecessary.
The FlowLine concept is best suited for users that have a high proportion of well-planned recurring jobs where debugging of packages and fiducials is not likely to be required. Although FlowLine supports the use of multiple magazines per batch, maximum efficiency gains are achieved in those applications where a typical batch fits into a single magazine.
